CLOSED TO ED

The Cabot estate is kind of ridiculous but Gabby must've been getting used to the Flynn lifestyle because it didn't even faze her a bit. Well, apart from asking her at least a dozen times between the gates and the driveway how many ponies did Ed have and did he go riding every day. Which she was not going to laugh at because she doubted Gabby would understand the double entendre- and she really didn't want her to ever understand it.

"Okay, seriously I have no idea how many ponies they have. Please direct all questions to Ed," Abby begam grabbing both of their bags and rolling her eyes as Gabby ran up the stairs and excitedly chattered away at whoever had opened the door and every member of staff between her car and the pool. Looking around she spotted Ed and dropped their towels at the edge of the pool. "Gabby wants to know how many ponies you have, how many princesses you have..."

Abigail laughed, ducking her head as Gabby launched herself into the pool and splashed her. Pressing her lips together she sat down by the edge of the pool and swung her legs into the water.

CLOSED TO KIM (Backdated: Pre-fairytale plot)

The thing with complicated relationships was that they were complicated. Not that Kim knew about complications but complications there were. It wasn't that she didn't like spending time with him, love spending time with him because she did but Ed... was a big distraction. Maybe if she could smush the two of them together then she'd have the best boyfriend, instead of the best of both worlds in her weird complicated dating relationship thing.

Speaking of, it was so easy to sneak up on Kim. She'd said she was going to come over to his studio and here she was, sneaking in and up behind him. Covering his eyes from behind, she smiled and leaned up to murmur in his ear.

"Guess who?"

CLOSED TO KIM

Abigail sat typing away on her laptop, humming along to her spotify when she heard the knock at the door. Hopefully it was her boyfriend, not Ed and she could finally spend some time with him.

"It's open!" Abigail called out, pulling her headphones off before continuing to type rapid fire on the keyboard. Hearing someone walk in, she turned her head a fraction- her eyes never leaving the screen as she waited for a kiss to her cheek. "Sit down, I'm almost done and then I'm all yours for the evening. You want to watch a movie or something?"

Abigail hummed a couple bars of Sia under her breath as she finished the last thousandth line of code and lifted her arms up in achy victory.

At the back of the Quill [Closed to Ed. NSFW. tw: sex]

Stood waiting in the cold, Abby ran a hand through her hair as she tried to talk herself maybe out of this. It was stupid, she shouldn't be here and yet... she just wanted to forget about everything. Forget about her mom, forget about Kim- stupid teasing virgin boyfriend-, forget about Gabby living on a freaking boat, just forget all that and just live. Which is why she was stood in an alley, her car parked a little way off waiting for Ed freaking Cabot. Because she was apparently as bad as her father. Or her sister. Who knew Flynn's had a type.

The Boat [Closed to Robert]

Pushing her phone in her pocket, Abby looked at the connection between boat and dock before making a face. Yeah, it hadn't been quite so bad when her dad- when her father was carrying her but now looking at it was making her feel uneasy. Like it could fall through into the water and then she'd be drowning again. Or Gabby would try and save her and that would be embarrassing as hell.

"Where are we going?" Gabby asked, tugging on her hand. Taking a breath, she let Gabby lead the way up to the deck of their dad's ship. She'd totally meant to tell her before now but then she just- she couldn't. He was right about some things. "Whose boat is this? It's so big, do you think it sails on the ocean? I bet it's been to India or China or- or Texas."

"Uh, I don't think it's gone to Texas somehow. And we're here to see someone... special, okay? So, be on your best behaviour and don't- don't be disappointed if... if he's not like the stories." Abigail muttered, brushing Gabby's hair back before knocking on one of the doors before entering. "Uh, hey? Hello, we're um here."

The Quill [OPEN]

Headphones in, Abby hummed to herself as she bit into a cheese and onion muffin. Scrawling over her dad's face in the local rag pretending to be a newspaper, Abigail worked on finding something more secure than working for some crappy little fishing place fixing up their internet and online business. And something that paid a damn sight better seeing as she now had a house to maintain. Head down, she didn't see the person who attacked her until the last minute.

"ABBY!" Looking up at the excited sound of a voice, Abigail blinked in confusion as this tiny little bundle of blonde hair threw herself at her. Letting out an ooof as the kid crawled all over her, she managed to free herself from the tangle of wires to wrap her arms around... her sister. Her stupid, amazing baby sister Gabrielle- Gabby. "Hi! Were you surprised? Mom said to wait in the car while she called to find out where you were but then I saw you and I wanted to surprise you."

"Gabby... one thing at a time. Does mom know you're in here?" Abigail asked, pulling her up to sit on her lap properly and not just flail around. "What are you even doing in here anyway? Why the hell are you in town?"

"Awww, you swore! I'm going to tell on youuuu," Gabby sang. Abigail looking up as her mom walked through the door, looking pale and tired. Which was weird. "Mom! Abby swore lots, she said the h word."

"Gabrielle don't tell tales, Abigail don't swear." Flushed Abigail, ducked her head as she picked Gabby up and put her down on the floor so she could hug her mom. Her mom looked smaller too, thinner, almost unwell. It was weird. "I'm glad I found you, could you look after Gabby for a little bit while I go run some errands."

"Sure but mom-" Abigail began as her mother cut her off and kissed Gabby and her goodbye. Blinking at her mother's strange behaviour, Abby's voice trailed off. "-why are you here? And who dressed you brat, you look like a rainbow vomited all over your clothes."

"Do not!" Gabby yelled as Abby watched her mom through the window, the way she slowly walked away from the Quill. The way she stopped every so often as if catching her breath.

"Do too!" Abigail muttered worrying.

"Do not!"

"Do too, what are you five?" Abby asked as Gabby held up her hands with eight fingers showing. Abby held one back in response.

"I'm so telling," Gabby said, making Abby smile. "Unless... you buy me an ice cream."

"Yeah, yeah fine. Come on, let's get you something to eat. And maybe some ice cream." Abigail muttered, groaning as Abigail jumped onto her back as she carried her over to the counter. It was nice to see her sister but it was kind of weird and her mom was acting so, so weird. Maybe she'd tell her later.

Boardwalk [OPEN] tw:boys being assholes throwing girls off things, drowing

This town was freaking dumb. Okay, so there were nice people here. But so far she hadn't met any of her siblings or rather, she hadn't gotten the nerve up yet to meet her siblings. She was staying in a crumby motel that had toilet stains older than she was and some really unsavoury connections elsewhere. And she had about two hundred more bucks to her name after she'd fixed some broken pawned items and answered a couple of Covelist job wants. And still nowhere near enough money to get her back to Washington with her car. Which meant she might have to sell it or worse ask her father for help which was infinitely worse.

Watching as a couple of kids, well people her age, jumped off the boardwalk she rolled her eyes. It didn't matter if you were in Washington on cliffs or a boardwalk, kids were going to be idiots no matter what. She could just see Sam doing it a couple years ago. Ugh, that asshole.

"Coming through," Abigail gripped the rail as one of them bumped into her on their way past to throw themselves off it again.

THE QUILL [OPEN]

'Hey Sweetheart, I'm sorry if I woke you. I just haven't heard from you in a couple of days and I know college can be- HI ABBY!- Gabrielle sweetie let me just try and talk to your sister. It's just her answer phone, go put on Tangled again I know you like that.- FLYNN RIDER!- Listen, I'm just starting to worry about you. Silly, right? Okay, give me old mom a call when you have chance. Don't work too hard, I love you... I love you Princess.'

Swearing softly as she listened to her mom's message again. Listened to how tired she sounded, how exhausted she must've been and how happy Gabby sounded. Kicking her dumb car's interior, she counted the money in her wallet again. One hundred and seventy bucks and change, that was all she had left and she couldn't keep sleeping in her car forever. The cops probably wouldn't take too kindly to that here, small town and all. She knew exactly what that was like.

Climbing out the back seat of her car, she grabbed her laptop and headed towards the last place she'd seen her father but the only place she at least knew sold coffee here. She hadn't planned on sticking around, she certainly wasn't sticking around for him at least. At least she could get good coffee and free wifi, and maybe she could make the coffee last all day if needed. She was good at doing that and even better if they had re-fills and a bathroom.

Rubbing her eyes, she ran a hand through her hair and went to order muttering the word asshole over and over again. Her own private mantra to keep her going.

"Hey, you don't know if they've got a town paper or something here? You know the kind with cheap places to stay?" Abigail asked, rubbing the dark eye-liner into the corners of her eyes with her thumb as she yawned.
