Boardwalk [OPEN] tw:boys being assholes throwing girls off things, drowing
This town was freaking dumb. Okay, so there were nice people here. But so far she hadn't met any of her siblings or rather, she hadn't gotten the nerve up yet to meet her siblings. She was staying in a crumby motel that had toilet stains older than she was and some really unsavoury connections elsewhere. And she had about two hundred more bucks to her name after she'd fixed some broken pawned items and answered a couple of Covelist job wants. And still nowhere near enough money to get her back to Washington with her car. Which meant she might have to sell it or worse ask her father for help which was infinitely worse.
Watching as a couple of kids, well people her age, jumped off the boardwalk she rolled her eyes. It didn't matter if you were in Washington on cliffs or a boardwalk, kids were going to be idiots no matter what. She could just see Sam doing it a couple years ago. Ugh, that asshole.
"Coming through," Abigail gripped the rail as one of them bumped into her on their way past to throw themselves off it again.
"Jackasses," Abigail muttered under her breath as she passed the teenagers wearing letterman jackets for what she assumed was the local high school. Hearing them mutter to themselves, she felt them slide their hands beneath her arm and lift her up off the safety of the boardwalk. Laptop bag dropping to the ground, she began to struggle as they pulled her towards the edge where they had all been jumping off. "Get off me! Hey! Get your hands off me, don't I can't- HEY! QUIT I-AAAAAAAH!"
Abigail screamed as the boys threw her over the boardwalk fencing towards the deep waters of the ocean, flailing she shrieked as she hit the water and sunk like a stone. Kicking her legs panicked, her arms hit out as she tried to push against the water weighing her clothes down and pulling her down. She could feel her body fighting her, trying to change but she could do this, she could do it. Feeling the cold water strangle her, she coughed as she managed to break the surface and gasp air in and swallowed salt water before she was pulled beneath a wave.
"Dude, why isn't she getting up? Fuck, we're in trouble- hey! Hey! HELP! I think she's drowning!" One of the kids shouted, calling out as Abigail began to be the world's first siren to freaking drown.
ooc: come save abby from drowning!

"Hey, hey, you're okay," Genevieve said between breaths as she worked toward pulling the girl toward the shore. She was doing okay now but if the girl struggled she might have to let her go and she really didn't want to do that.
"I've got you. I've got you but I need you to stay relaxed, just like you are."

The wonderful sand where she wouldn't have to fight the urge in her that was trying to produce scales not skin and a tail not legs. She was pretty much holding it together as a human... barely.

"We're almost there, just a bit more and we can stand then we'll kick their ass together," she said. She wasn't sure what the guys had done to the girl and why she was so angry but someone had almost drowned and that wasn't okay. But they could deal with that AFTER they got safely to shore.

Without the constant pressure, the constant contact the need to shift and change into a siren ebbed and faded and she almost sobbed with relief. Pulling in panicked air, she waved her hand apologetically at the girl and tried to deal with breathing and being on land.
"Sorry, can't- can't deal with water. Not a fan, can't swim. Obviously."
no subject
"You don't have to apologize," Genevieve said, resting a hand on her back as the other girl coughed up water and tried to get her breath. She heard shouting up ahead and turned to see a group of teenage boys running toward them.
"We didn't mean to hurt her! We wouldn't have thrown her in if we didn't know she couldn't swim. Who's so stupid they can't swim anyhow," one of them called out.
"You did what?" Genevieve said, standing up from where she was kneeling I ER the girl. "You threw her in? What, all out of geese to weigh her against so you thought you'd see if she floated? Well guess what, boys, I don't float but I am a witch!"
The air whipped up around her as she took hold of it, sending a blast of wind at the group that sent them flying off their feet. They were lucky they were on the sand where the landing wouldn't hurt them much. The way she was feeling she wouldn't have cared if they got hurt.

The girl beside her, the one who'd rescued her seemed to go from irritated to pissed. Watching with a wide mouth, Abigail stared as the boys were lifted up off their feet and sent flying.
"Uh, well that's cool." Abigail said, trying to rub warmth into her arms but she was drenched and she needed her bag and she just wanted to get warm. "Awesome Monty Python reference, just what every girl needs after she's been almost drowned."
no subject
"Does that mean I can say now it's time for spankings and then oral sex?" Genevieve said, turning back to the girl. The water was cold, especially with all the clothes the girl had on. She needed to warm up fast.
"Come on, we'll get your bag then my car isn't far away. You can strip off those wet clothes and I'll crank the heat. I don't live to far from here, you can get a hot shower and something to drink."
no subject
"No, sorry. We can't, it's too perilous." Abigail said, shivering as she pulls herself up and shakes as she heads back towards her bag and takes it from a stranger who asked if she was okay. "You have a b-blanket?"
She pulled off her jacket, wincing at how tight it was and hard to pull off. It was probably going to be ruined which was the worst.

"I've got a towel, which should help," she said, picking it up from where she dropped it and wrapped it around the girl, rubbing the girl's arms a bit to help the blood circulate. Once they were at the car they could crank up the heat and that would help even more.
"So were those assholes some of your classmates or something?"
no subject
"No, never met them before. I'm not from round here," Abigail muttered, shoulders pulling together as the other girl rubbed her arms. "I need to get out of these jeans. Fuck I hate the sea, I hate water. Stupid water."
Stupid dad making her too stubborn to ever go in it.

Normally she would be all kinds of excited about a cute girl getting her clothes off in Genevieve's car, but right now wasn't really the right circumstances for that. The other girl was probably in shock or something and didn't need a random stranger hitting on her.
Once the girl was in, Genevieve got in and started the car, turning the heat up.
"It'll warm up pretty quick and we're not that far from where I live."
no subject
"I didn't intend to stick around this long," Abigail muttered, feeling warmth come back into her blood. The colour returning a little to her lips and cheeks and fingertips. "I'm just waiting for some-someone who decided to skip town before I could talk to them."
no subject
"Well, I hope that they show up soon, especially if you really do hate the water that much."
no subject
"I should audition for K-Kiss," Abigail muttered, wiping the dark eyeliner beneath her eyes so it was a much more neater black smudge. "T-thanks for saving me, not many people would do that. And uh, thanks for knocking them on their asses with your apparent witchy powers."
no subject
"And no problem. Uh, I hope you know magic exists and stuff because if not you're handling it really, really well."
no subject
"I'm a- oh god, don't laugh- a siren." Abigail muttered, covering her face with the ridiculousness of how that sounded. Especially after she'd been pulled out of the water, after she had been drowning. Yeah, she was the coolest siren to ever siren. "And one of my friend's has... talents."

Genevieve laughed. She couldn't help it. She absolutely believed the girl and she felt kind of bad since she specifically asked Genevieve not to laugh but it was too hilarious.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm done," she said, taking a breath to compose herself, giggle-snorting once more before she had it completely under control. "But, uh, that's good that you know about magic and stuff, otherwise this place would seem crazy to you."

"I grew up in New Orleans, this place is really normal compared to that," she said with a laugh. Still, Siren Cove had its own brand of crazy and weird. She was liking it more and more though. Coming here wasn't such a bad thing after all.
"And here we are," she said, pulling into the driveway of Coop's house. "A hot shower coming up."
no subject
"Jesus, you live here?" Abigail asked, eyes widening at the place. What was it with everyone here living in ridiculously expensive houses that she could never even dream of owning. Abigail was in a crappy little motel but even back at home there was no way they could afford somewhere like this. Not that her hometown had much like this. "How d-do you afford that?"
Abigail grabbed her stuff, carrying it indoors and ready to just like drop everything for the hot shower. She could not wait to get her wet girl shorts and bra off, she was kind of ridiculously wet.
no subject
"The rent is free because my cousin owns it and I'm totally mooching off of him," Genevieve admitted as she got out of the car and headed inside with the girl. Coop was at work for the day so Genevieve didn't need to worry about walking in on him entertaining someone. Or warning the other girl about the hotness that was her cousin in general.
"But come on, the bathroom is here. I'll find you a robe or something you can wear while I wash and dry your clothes, okay? Maybe something hot to drink too?"
no subject
"Yeah? I don't have cousins to mooch off, must be nice." Abigail muttered. Or maybe she did have cousins, jesus she knew nothing about her family because of him. A whole legion of siblings out there and she had no idea how far her family tree went. "T-thanks."
Abigail reached behind her, unhooking the wet bra and letting it slip off her shoulders beneath the towel. Dropping it to the floor, she turned up the temperature on the shower and placed her bra down on the side before slipping out of her panties. Which wasn't at all weird to be giving to a perfect stranger at all.
"Uh, that would be great. Uh, without this sounding like a blatant come on, here are my panties and be warned they are very wet."
no subject
"So not a blatant come on, but maybe a bit of one?" Genevieve asked, arching an eyebrow as she gathered up the girl's wet clothes. She kind of hoped that it was a come on because the girl was pretty hot and didn't seem nearly so shaken up now. Maybe after she got cleaned up and had some food or something then Genevieve would feel less like she was taking advantage of her by hitting on her.
"Don't worry though, I know just how to take care of you," Genevieve said, winking at the other girl before she left her to her shower.

Abigail tugged the towel up, looking at the girl with an awkward uh before smiling at her. She hadn't expected that and she certainly didn't know how to respond to that.
"I doubt that," Abigail muttered, smiling shakily as she closed the door to the bathroom. Taking a hot shower certainly helped, sitting at the bottom of the shower she tugged her knees to her chest and ran her fingertips over the scales that had appeared at her thighs, at her knees. Taking a deep breath, she tried to control it- make it go away. The ever familiar reminder of her dad.

Genevieve dumped the girl's clothing into the washer and started it before finding a large enough robe and some athletic robe to toss into the bathroom for her. Hopefully her stuff would be clean and dried before too long and she wouldn't have to wander around in a stranger's clothes too long. Sometimes that could be fun but not necessarily always.
While she was waiting Genevieve got some hot chocolate ready though, which she figured was about the best way she could make the other girl feel at home.
