Wren Freaking Bellamy was going to drown. He was going to drown rescuing her and she would be the world's most hated person ever. Holding onto the beam, she waited for him to re-emerge from the water. Too cold, too tired, too unable to swim to be of any help even if he was freaking drowning.
Letting out a breath as he swung up onto the pier gracefully. As if he'd meant to do it all along. Sighing as he helped boost her up, she clung to her would be rescuers as they pulled her up onto safety. The kids who'd thrown her in had scattered leaving her laptop bag behind.
Thanking someone when they wrapped a space blanket round her, she shivered beneath the shiny silvery fabric.
