Abigail tried to keep it together, tried to keep calm but there was a huge part of her that was trying to change and she was not okay with that. At all. As soon as her feet brushed sand, she let go of her death grip on her rescuer and stumbled forward until she was as far out and away from the water as possible.
Without the constant pressure, the constant contact the need to shift and change into a siren ebbed and faded and she almost sobbed with relief. Pulling in panicked air, she waved her hand apologetically at the girl and tried to deal with breathing and being on land.
"Sorry, can't- can't deal with water. Not a fan, can't swim. Obviously."
