Genevieve didn't really consider herself altruistic but even she wouldn't just walk past someone that was drowning. She wasn't sure why the idiots who were shouting didn't jump in to save whoever was drowning but there wasn't a lot of time to consider that. Fortunately she had just been coming from a swim so she dropped her bag, tossed her sunglasses off, then kick her sandals aside and dove into the water.
Saving a drowning person was a pretty risky thing, even if you were a good swimmer. She knew that there was always a chance the person you were trying to save might drown you along with them. Under the water she saw a girl sinking, clearly unable to swim. Kicking harder Genevieve dove down and wrapped her arms under the other girl's before kicking back up toward the surface, praying she could haul the girl up.
